I do believe we live in a country together, and a country takes care of it's people. That's how it is. We have a lot of democratic socialist style programs already. We've got massive inequality, racism, and ton of other issues, that are not going to be solved by everyone going it alone. If you wanna go it alone, move to the middle of nowhere in Alaska, build a cabin, and subsist. If you want to be a part of this country, we work together. I've been down and out, food stamps helped, me, now I'm not and I have no problem contributing to help another person (although if you're worried about government spending, you should really be looking at the military, unneeded subsidies for energy companies, and corporate tax breaks).
Yes all rich people are giving away all their money to help all the small businesses in america thrive. Let me quote you here: "if you believe that what you can't do for yourself becomes you neighbor's responsibility..." Why would anyone with this mindset contribute a vast quantity of their wealth back into society? Seems much much much more likely they would hoard it, invest it in various funds and real estate, and make it grow. And that my friend, is what they do. Don't be naive.
