Some people like to see live performances, shows, concerts and so on. Others, however, prefer to watch them on TV or a computer screen rather than attending live shows. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Here is an example in answer to the question of whether live performances or recorded ones are better. Remember that there are other ways to answer this question!

There are pros and cons to attending live performances compared to watching them on TV or streamed via the Internet. Personally, I enjoy both for different reasons.
The disadvantages of going to live performances are manifest. Tickets are often very expensive and may be hard to come by. For example, a ticket to see Les Miserables at the Queen’s Theatre in London can cost as much as £125. Also, it takes time and effort to get to venues where concerts are held. For example, the big shows in the UK are held in cities like London, Edinburgh or Manchester, so that people from the south west or Wales have to travel for a long time and even stay overnight in order to visit them. However, the atmosphere in a concert hall or theatre during a live show cannot be replicated at home. Joining in an event, for example, like Last Night of the Proms or Glastonbury is an experience which will stay with you forever.
On the other side of the coin, watching performances in the comfort of your own home has a number of advantages. There is no travel involved, and the shows are usually offered on free terrestrial TV, or for a small fee via cable or satellite. Because there are microphones and cameras everywhere, people at home often get the best view and clearest sound. They are not jostled by a crowd and can relax on the sofa with a cup of tea and watch at the same time as the live audience, or at their leisure, through a recording. This is particularly true of sporting events such as Wimbledon or the World Cup where people who are there do not see every movement of the ball or action by the players, whereas the TV audience does.
In short, I think that a live concert is an amazing experience if you have time and money to attend because of the atmosphere, but by watching a performance on TV you probably see and hear more than you would in person.
