Some people think success in life is based on hard work and determination, but others think there are more important factors like money and appearance. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
As Einstein once highlighted that, and I interpret here, hard work contributes mostly to people’s success. Such statement, in contemporary society, has triggered public concern over an alternative path to success, which is, universally acknowledged by public, money and appearance. As far as I am concerned, hard work and determination should be the most significant factor. In this essay, I will present my understandings about both these views and give my own justifications.
On one hand, it is universally acknowledged that hard work and determination can facilitate the process of accumulation of knowledge, which will directly lead to success. There is relevant evidence that, study shows, people will gain more knowledge in the same period of time if they concentration on what they learn. In another word, people who determine what they do will effectively accumulate more knowledge; therefore, they can be closer to success. Hard work can also lead to accumulation of knowledge due to fact that longer time people spend on books, more information they will remember. From all points presented above, a solid conclusion can be drawn here that hard work and determination can actually result in success.
On the other hand, hard work and determination, while it may seem reasonable and justified in theory, proved by many examples in reality, does not directly lead to success. However, it seems that money and appearance contributes more to the way to success. It is actors that averagely make more annual income nowadays according to latest Chinese income statistics. The growing evidence is that people who come from a wealthy family are more likely to become success. The evidence is overwhelming: They will receive higher and better education. Such people are born with a platinum card to success.
After comparing two opinions, as fas as I am concerned, hard work and determination, in the long run, will contribute more to success. People with real knowledge will be appreciated under any circumstances. Jack Ma, who is leading entrepreneur in IT industry, for instance, is a well-known figure all around the world but without a good-looking face. Such example strongly demonstrates that people can be successful even with unsatisfactory appearance. People may become a superstar when he/she is young and good-looking. Brutal truth is all those fame and success, in the long run, will fade out eventually as age encroaches on beautiful appearance.
From the above-presented discussion, a solid conclusion can be drawn here that hard work and determination is the most vital factor for success. Admittedly, money and appearance, to some extend, will be a short cut to success; however, in the long run, solid knowledge, which results from hard work and determination, is the key to success.
